Happy Independence Day America!
Today, we didn't do our usual 4th of July party. This year we wanted to keep it simple and enjoy the fun. Earlier in the afternoon, we went to the beach. It was a beautiful day to get out and enjoy the sun. And that's exactly what we did. The girls played around in the water, while Andy and I relaxed up on the shore. After a while we got hungry, so we headed back home and grilled ourselves a great dinner. Then, we waited a bit until it got dark. That's when the fun began. We got out our supply of fireworks and we went to town. It was a gorgeous display this year. The people in our neighborhood really had some spectacular ones too. Each of us also lit a lantern this year to send to the heavens so our friends and family who are no longer with us could see the sparkly display of lights too. This year I was so grateful to be able to relax and enjoy the time with the ones I love the most. It was a truly awesome Independence Day.
